Summary

The Chief of Staff to the President serves as a strategic partner and operational leader who supports the President in advancing Enserva’s organizational priorities, initiatives, and stakeholder relationships. This role acts as an extension of the President, helping to drive alignment across the organization, ensure strategic initiatives are progressing effectively, and support the leadership team in executing Enserva’s mission.

The Chief of Staff plays a critical role in managing key projects, coordinating leadership activities, facilitating internal communication, and supporting governance and stakeholder engagement. In addition to strategic and operational responsibilities, this position provides select executive support to the President to ensure their time and priorities are managed effectively.

This is a highly trusted role that requires discretion, sound judgment, strong organizational skills, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment.

Job Duties

Strategic Support & Organizational Alignment

  • Act as a strategic advisor and partner to the President, helping translate organizational priorities into actionable plans.
  • Support the development, coordination, and tracking of key strategic initiatives across the organization.
  • Assist the President in preparing for leadership meetings, board engagements, and industry events.
  • Monitor progress of priority initiatives and provide regular updates to the President and leadership team.
  • Identify operational challenges and recommend solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Leadership Team Coordination

  • Coordinate activities of the executive leadership team to ensure alignment with Enserva’s strategic goals.
  • Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration and communication.
  • Prepare briefing materials, presentations, and internal communications for leadership discussions.
  • Support the development of leadership meeting agendas and ensure follow-up on key decisions and action items.

Governance & Board Support

  • Support the President in preparation for Board of Directors meetings and committee meetings.
  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of board materials, briefing notes, and reports.
  • Ensure key governance timelines and deliverables are tracked and met.

Project & Initiative Management

  • Lead or support strategic projects and organizational initiatives on behalf of the President.
  • Coordinate internal resources to ensure project timelines and deliverables are achieved.
  • Track and report on progress of major initiatives and ensure accountability across teams.
  • Conduct research and prepare analysis to support decision-making.

Stakeholder & Industry Engagement

  • Support the President in managing relationships with key external stakeholders including industry partners, government representatives, and member organizations.
  • Assist in preparing briefing materials, speeches, and presentations for industry events and public engagements.
  • Represent the President in meetings or discussions when appropriate.

Executive Support to the President

  • Provide high-level executive support to the President, ensuring their time, focus, and priorities are strategically aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Own and proactively manage the President’s calendar, ensuring it reflects key priorities, balances internal and external demands, and allows adequate time for strategic work, preparation, and decision-making. Anticipate needs, resolve conflicts, and optimize scheduling to maximize effectiveness.
  • Coordinate complex scheduling, travel arrangements, and meeting logistics.
  • Prepare briefing documents and materials in advance of meetings and events.
  • Manage confidential correspondence and communications on behalf of the President.
  • Ensure timely follow-up on key commitments and action items.


 

 

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Post-secondary education in business, public administration, communications, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in a strategic, operational, or executive support role.
  • Experience supporting senior executives, leadership teams, or boards is strongly preferred.
  • Experience within an association, energy, or industry advocacy environment is considered an asset.
