Lead Drafter
About The Position

We are currently seeking a self-motivated and dedicated professional to join our team as a permanent full-time Lead Drafter. This role involves managing and coordinating the drafting department. Typical work products include creating basic site plans and layouts, designing excavation/shoring plans, pile layouts, retaining wall and backfill plans, producing other drawings as necessary and collaborating with engineers and project managers to meet project specifications. The ideal candidate is meticulous, skilled in AutoCAD, and comfortable working under tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership: Mentoring junior drafters, providing training, and ensuring consistency in design standards.
- Drafting Schedule and Budget tracking : Assigning work to team members, ensuring work is distributed evenly across the team and jobs are completed within the allocated budget.
- Drafting & Design: Develop detailed engineering drawings and documents based on sketches, redline markups, and information based on verbal instructions and notes provided by engineers. Typical products include basic site plans and layouts, designing excavation/shoring plans, pile layouts, retaining wall and backfill plans. Prepare design submissions and technical documents, including BP and IFC drawings.
- Project Coordination: Working closely with engineers, project managers and other technicians to meet project specifications and requirements
- Software Proficiency: Expert-level knowledge of AutoCAD
- Quality Assurance: Reviewing, checking, and validating drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance. Ensure drafting/CAD standards are followed and that our drafting products are consistent.

Requirements
Qualifications
- Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Computer-Aided Design.
- Excellent AutoCAD skills.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working with civil engineering design disciplines.
- Ability to interpret broad feedback and translate it into detailed and accurate plans.
- General knowledge of engineering mathematics and the ability to perform basic computations.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Fundamental knowledge of Adobe and MS Office products.
