Hydrogeologist (Junior to Intermediate)

We are currently seeking to add an experienced Intermediate Hydrogeologist to our groundwater team for a full-time position in our Vancouver office. The position would be a mix of field and office work, with most project sites located in the greater Vancouver area.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Carry out site investigations which include, but are not limited to, soil logging during drilling, drill supervision, well installation, slug testing, pump testing, installation of piezometers and groundwater monitoring.
- Prepare technical reports (such as hydrogeological investigation reports, geotechnical investigation reports and groundwater supply reports) that document field investigations, and effectively communicate analytical results, interpretations, data gaps, and uncertainties.
- Estimate groundwater inflow rates to excavations for dewatering design and groundwater management plans.
- Groundwater modelling (typically seepage modelling using Seep-W or Mod-Flow).
- Preparation of groundwater monitoring graphs, hydraulic testing analysis, pump test analysis and other spreadsheet-based analysis methods pertaining to infiltration.
- Preparation of fee proposals.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff as needed.

Requirements
Qualifications:
- 3 to 8 years of relevant experience working in hydrogeology
- B.Sc. or higher in geology, earth sciences, or a related engineering field; M.Sc. in hydrogeology preferred.
- Experience devising and implementing specific hydrogeological field investigations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Competent in writing clear, concise technical reports.
- Eligible to register as a Professional Geoscientist with EGBC.
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience with GIS platforms (QGIS or Arc-GIS) is considered an asset.
- Experience with GeoStudio (Seep-W), ModFlow and other hydrogeological modelling software would be considered an asset.
- A valid BC driver’s license with a clean driving record and a vehicle.
- Interest in both field and office work.
