Inspired HR is working with our client in the hospitality and sustainability industries for a driven and professional Finance Manager to join the growing team.

Role Summary

The Finance Manager supports the Controller in maintaining the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of the Company’s financial reporting and accounting processes. As an individual contributor, this role plays a hands-on part in the monthly and year-end close cycles across multiple legal entities and business units across North America, contributing to financial statement preparation, reconciliations, intercompany accounting, and compliance-related activities.

Working collaboratively across departments, the Finance Manager helps ensure the integrity of financial data, consistency in reporting, and adherence to internal controls and accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support month-end and year-end close processes across multiple entities, including preparation of journal entries, accruals, and detailed balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Draft financial statements and consolidated working papers for review by the Controller.
  • Perform account analysis and variance explanations to support management reporting.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and documentation of accounting treatment for new or complex transactions, supporting consistent application of accounting standards across entities.
  • Prepare and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances, assisting with eliminations and resolution of discrepancies between entities.
  • Maintain accurate supporting schedules for assets, liabilities, revenues, and expenses across entities.
  • Assist with sales tax filings, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
  • Support income tax preparation by compiling required schedules and coordinating information for external advisors.
  • Prepare audit working papers and respond to auditor requests in coordination with the Controller.
  • Help maintain and strengthen internal controls, ensuring documentation and procedures are consistently applied across entities.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and standardize workflows across entities.
  • Support ERP system enhancements, reporting improvements, and data integrity initiatives.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data across the organization.
  • Assist in preparing financial analyses and ad-hoc reports to support management decisions and operational planning.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Preparation of financial statements
  • Accounting Knowledge: Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements. Familiarity with multi-entity accounting, intercompany transactions, and month-end/year-end close processes is preferred.
  • Systems & Technical Skills: Proficiency with accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to work with data to support accurate financial reporting.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Time & Priority Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and support the Controller effectively.

Experience: 

5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including exposure to operational accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting across multiple entities across multiple countries. Experience with internal controls, audit preparation, and tax compliance is an advantage.

Education & Certification: 

  • CPA designation or near completion required.
